I am running RedHat 5.1 Linux. I downloaded a Spice simulation program (spice3f5sfix.tar.gz version date is 6/25/99) from http://metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/apps/circuits/spice3f5sfix.tar.gz

When I do the installation, there are error message about many files cannot be found when compiling /usr/spice3/src/lib/fte/x11.c

The files not found are: Intrinsic.h, IntrinsicP.h, Xatom.h, StringDefs.h, Xutil.h, cursorfont.h, Box.h, Command.h, Form.h, Shell.h.

I searched through my entire hard drive and could not find these files.

I also search through the RedHat 5.1 installation CD disk#1 and could not find these files.

I started the installation package (glint), and checked my installed packages. It indicated that I have installed the X11 packages consisting of: utilities, Xfree86, Shells, Applications, Libraries etc.

I also checked the available X11 packages on the CD disk#1, and found that the available X11 packages are the same as my installed packages (i.e. I have installed all the available X11 packages).

ð Inference is that the above files are not found in my RedHat 5.1 X11 package or the CD disk.

I then checked my office's Sunworkstation for the above files, and found they do exist

I would appreciate very much if somebody answer and clarify my below questions:

1) Does the RedHat 5.1 have the above header files ? but I need to find them in other places or by other means ?

2) I also have 6 CD of Linux 5.1 Power Tools, should I just search each one of them one at a time. If I do find them, should I just copy (cp file1 file2) to my computer ? or they can be installed by the RPM/Package Manager/glint ? Note that the Package Manager showed that I already have all the X11 packages.

3) Should I find these files on the metalab.unc.edu site and download from there, and what files to download ?

Any other comments and advice to overcome this problem ?
