[lug] upgrade to red hat 6.1 problem

hello,
until now, upgrading distributions of red hat was a fairly easy task. i
currently now have red hat 6.0 and just got the linux mall red hat 6.1
cd. it seems that when the installation program goes to search my hard
drive for the installed packages, i get an error stating that my
/dev/hda drive is not mountable.
i have tried this using the neat gui installation program and the old
fashion text mode install and both give me the same error message. the
text mode version though gives you the option to click ok to the error
message or debug. when i click on debug i get is bunch of error messages
from a python debugger. when you hit ok on that message it then drops
you down to the Pdb prompt. i don't know python at all and i'm
definitely stuck on this one.
when my system boots up for the install using the cdrom or the floppy,
i do notice that my hda drive is mounting fine. this is rather
perplexing to say the least. i was wondering if anyone else has had this
problem or if this is a bug in the installation program for the linux
mall cd or red hats official distribution ?
