In the Federal Register of July 12, NVLAP announced the establishment of
its latest LAP, Information Technology Security Testing using ISO IS
15408, also known as the Common Criteria.  Eight laboratories have applied
for accreditation and are now going through the assessment process. Once
accredited, these laboratories will be eligible to participate in the
National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) product validation
scheme (http://niap.nist.gov/cc-scheme/).
