4MM SCSI DAT tape, using 6 tapes and one cleaning tape, rotated daily.  I have 
a script that backs up different directories on alternate days (since the
whole thing wouldn't fit on a single tape.

I went through this whole dead drive scenario twice while in Dallas last
year, which prompted me to buy the DAT drive.
