This is due to the kernel not being able to mount the /
filesystem. has your root filesystem moved?
You can see this message if you try and compile support for your scsi
card as a module and don't build a new initrd. (ie, the kernel trys to
load a module to get to your / partition, but it needs the / partition
to load the module From. ;)

Thats not the time, it's the major:minor number of the device it tried
to mount as the root filesystem...in this case 16:42 doesn't
corrispond to any devices at all on my system. You might need to boot
from a rescue disk and re-run lilo.
