Yeah, but is RADSL a synchronous flavor of DSL? I understood ADSL throughput
as being your max bandwidth, up or down. So, if you're pushing 256k on an
ADSL line, you might get 128k up and 128k down, or whatever, but that's
it--totaling at 256k (since it's async).

On SDSL, on the other hand, you'll get 256k up AND down simultaneously, for
"true" throughput of 512k (since it's a synchronous connection). At least,
that's how I understand it from my SDSL provider...

All of the USWest circuits I've seen are RADSL, including the circuits into
other ISPs, and almost all of them end up running at 640k down, 256k up. I
have seen some with really weak signals turned down to 256/128, though.
