I forgot to mention that Athome limits the UPLOAD speed of the cable modems to
128 Kbits/second, which makes a cable modem unsuitable for heavy serving. 
That, of course, is exactly why Athome put that limit on the cable modems -
they'll probably make a "business" connection available which removes the limit
(and, coincidentally, costs much more).
