Perhaps it's because the K6's FPU is pretty weak compared to Intel's. I see
this a lot In gaming. My buddies running on K6's get half the performance I
do with my Intel chips. The Athlon addressed this quite well. It's FPU is faster
than Intel's current generation CPUs.
