[lug] CLUE-Talk: Your Attention Please, Linux Group forming.... (fwd)

As someone that is in a student run/organized LUG, I'd like to offer
some suggestions.  Contact O'Reilly about getting free books for
review/give away at club meetings.  Try and find some faculty/staff that
already use Linux.  

One of the things that we have done here for funding and notice is on
the university's club night (clubs put on a dance, games, etc), we set
up Quake on some older machines and customized the backgrounds to have
BYU themes.  I'm assuming that you are doing this at UC Boulder by the
way.  Tell all your friends, talk to system programmers in the various
departments across campus, put up flyers.  Get some of the great people
on this list to come and talk, etc.
