[lug] file uploads with apache and perl/cgi.pm

I am trying to do a file upload to a server running apache.  I used the
code from Lincoln Stein's Official Guide and all I get is a file with
the desired name which is empty.

Apache is running as user nobody and the directory to which I am writing
is 777 with nobody as the  owner.

I'm not sure where to begin looking for the problem.  Any pointers?
