[lug] Perl question

Thanks for your response.  I will look the code you sent over well.  

I am not sure if you read all of the responses, but others pointed out
some of the flaws in the code.

About all I can say is, I got a lot of help and I am learning more about
perl than I would have if I had not had my head where the sun doesn't
shine and had interpreted the code as it really was.
