Correct. I didn't look close enough at the original to know whether
you were doing anything through X (I skim through my email too fast).

The reason I had thought of it is that anytime an application refuses
to run and you are in X, and you don't know for certain the user name
it is running under, xauth is suspect. I'd assumed your program was
being run suid some system user such as "nobody", or some daemon
owner.
