CLUE is having a Mad Skillz Day at Batky-Howell on June 17th from 11 AM
to 4 PM
Purpose: so you can show off what you do with Linux as well as learn
what others are doing with Linux!
Currently, we have to below people who will be showing off their skills
and the programs and we could use some more help. If you have a talent
in the below areas or some we haven't thought about, by all means, come
join us in showing off Linux capabilities!!
COMMITTED:
Game Server - Matt Durell
Apache - Matt Durell
Security - Matt Durell
Samba - Lynn Danielson
Vnc - Lynn Danielson
Star Office - Kevin Cullis
Slackware - Jeff Cann
Corel - Ed Young
PHP - Scott Marlowe
Could use some help with:
Games
Gimp
Zope
High Availability Linux
Firewalling
* Now understand that we don't have to have just one person for this
stuff. With multiple people, there can be multiple answers given, so
don't think that if something is taken that you can't contribute or join
in, you can!!
Things to think about which may spark something not shown above:
Showing off what programs to run to do a small home network.
What could a small home office use to automate their business with?
Setting up a VPN.
Interoperability between OSes/programs.
Simple home workstation/network administration.
If you can think of anything we've missed, volunteer your time!!
Besides, we'd like to get to know experts in Linux that we're not aware
of and would like to get to know.
As things progress in the background, we'll be keep you updated.
However, if you want to join us for a day of Linux, post your
suggestions, comments, and what you want to show off to CLUE-Talk so
that others can see who is doing what and can jump in with their $.02
worth.
We intend to have food, drinks, and giveaways, but as I stated, we're
finishing up this idea very shortly and want to get the idea out so
others can contribute.
Kevin
