I know windows has some timeouts set, although I'm not sure where you'd
find it for general telnet. For ISAPI and ODBC, there are limits for
both network timeouts and the individual ISAPI or ODBC (each ODBC in DSN
will have its own settings in NT or 2000, probably in 98 as well). If
ISAPI is being used, you probably need the NT option pack for NT 4, or
other admin tools for 2000. If communications is ODBC, and using a
database suggests it would be, then you'll need to configure timeouts at
the windows end (I haven't had to use 3rd party ODBC at the linux end,
so settings there for timeout are probably in a .rc file). If you are
running an app at the linux side, you might try to run it under the
nohup option (usually this is a shell built-in, so you'll likely need to
check man for the shell you use). E.G., "nohup someclient".
