[lug] kppp busy

Just downloaded winlinux yesterday of course it took
over 12 hours with 56k. Now my problem is when trying
to connect to the internet it says the modem is busy,
i'm using a friends computer don't have any idea what
type of modem it is. Any help will be appreciated.
