I'm a fan of the helical-scan media drives like DDS (DAT) and
AIT. DDS has native capacity of 2GB, 12GB, and 20GB, and
AIT has capacities of 25 and 50 I believe. I've found DDS and AIT
to be much more reliable than DLT. We seemed to have a LOT of media
failures on DLT.
