I agree about this book. I'm a beginner at firewalls and gateways, and I wanted to set up a machine to be a firewall and do masquerading for the company that I work for. This book gave me enough information to set it all up, and there are URLs listed in the appendix for additional information and tools. I used one of these tools to create my basic script, so it saved me a *lot* of typing.
