[lug] Various probs w/Linux

I reinstalled 6.1 on a new box & many probs went away. I got ftp
installed by answering yes to "Anonymous FTP servant" but there m
ust be a better way. Upgrading to 6.2 brought back most probs,
so RH is sending a replacement CD/flop.
Tx for input.
