[lug] ssh and ssh2 compatibility

I'm trying to figure out how to make my ssh1 identity.pub work with a server
that is running ssh2.  It has ssh1 compatibility turned on and the config
dir is .ssh2.  I have tried putting the identity.pub info in the regular
authorized_keys (like ssh1) and while looking through their ssh2 config
files they had a "AuthorizationFile  authorization" bit, which looked like
the same thing, so I tried that too.  No joy on either.  So, can this be
done, and how?
