Just a nitpick or two... RFC's call for a minimum TTL on a non-changing
zone file to be set to a minimum of 1W, not 1D.  No big deal (hell, I
don't run any of my zones that way) but since it's archived on the list.

This is the "old school" way of doing things.  Since BIND 8, it's
recommended that you use the ndc command, i.e. - 

ndc restart

Or if you're administering many zones on the same machine and don't want
to lose your lookup cache... edit named.conf (or equivalent) and ...

ndc reconfig

Or if you just edit a zone file and didn't change named.conf...

ndc reload _zonefile_
