Me too! BTW, another nice (graphic) way of installing packages is using
'stormpkg' from Stormix Linux 
(ftp://ftp.stormix.com/storm/dists/hail/main/binary-i386/admin/stormpkg_2.6.deb),
this  needs an installed gtksu ( .../main/binary-i386/x11/gtksu_1.0.deb).
I think this is a good (and stable ;-) alternative to gnome-apt.
