They've done studies and found that paper is something like 100 times
more readable than monitors.
If all somebody wants is a very quick intro to emacs, just fire it up
and hit cntrl-h t in order to get the online tutorial, which is good
enough for almost all purposes. Otherwise the O'Reilly book is best.
