I'm told that Coyote Point makes a good box.

LVS is the Linux Virtual Server project, which does the same thing using
Linux.  It is very well respected, and widely used.

Please note:  All approaches are hardware approaches.  They involve
dedicated boxes to do the job.  They're all PCs repackaged in one form or
another.

They're all software.  They are all basically unix-clone OSes to do the job.

You can buy support for any of them.

They're all clustering devices.  The direct traffic to a back end cluster of
machines which may run the same OS, or a different one.
