[lug] Pocket Ethernet Adapter III

I have an old 386 laptop with Debian v1.3.1(?) and a Xircom Model PE3-10BT adapter.  Would like to get this connected to my small 
network to install some packages off CD.  Not sure about all I need for this to work.  So far I have simply tried connecting to the hub from 
the adapter, off my parallel port.  Using PLIP I think.  Anyone ever try this before with success?
