[lug] Two time-related questions

I am doing it this way:

downloaded everything from: ftp://time-b.nist.gov/pub/daytime/

did a make nistime

put nistime in /usr/local/bin/

put this in my /etc/crontab:

5 * * * * root /usr/local/bin/nistime -s1 -m0 2>  /dev/null 1> /dev/null

time always within +- 1 sec except unless cron hangs.....

Then,  my desktop has an asclock which blinks it's ":" between hours and 
minutes - unless it hangs....
