[lug] Pop3 & Imap Over SSL

I thought I would share a discovery I made this weekend. RedHat 7.0 supports
pop3 and imap over SSL.

The steps to enable it are:

edit ipop3s in /etc/xinetd.d and set Disable=No
repeat for imaps

change to the /usr/share/ssl/certs directory and type:

make ipop3d.pem

Answer the prompts

make imapd.pem

answer the prompts.

Finally,

/etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd restart

You now can do POP3 over SSL and IMAP over SSL. Finally, I can set up pop3
accounts and not worry about the passwords being sniffed.
