a simple way to test for continuity is to make a blind plug (male or female),
looping the wire back to it's mate. (ie green to white/green). place this on one
end of the wire to be tested. make a plug for the other end, baring the ends of the
wires. Then it's a simple test with a dmm, all for under $20. I even went for broke
and bought a set of mini test clips and made it easier.
