[lug] LILO won't boot windows

Let's see your partition information (using fdisk /dev/hda) and
your /etc/lilo.conf file.

For LILO to boot Win98, lilo.conf has:

    "other=/dev/hdaN              where 'N' = the FAT partition
         label=Win98"

fdisk should show your FAT partition as being active, also.
