They did change the way modules are arranged with 2.4. Get the latest
rpm ( looks like modutils-2.3.9-6 ) and use it. It works with both
the new directory structure and the pre-2.4 version.

I happily running a couple of the test kernels ( 7 and 8 ) with RH6.2.
As always, I would be careful not to blow away the originals.
