Boulder Linux User's Group Meeting Summary
              ==========================================

Attendance: 61

Synopsis: This was the third meeting since we started doing the short
(approximately 10 minute) software demos. So far, these demos seem to be
well received and will continue.

This month Sean Reifschneider <jafo at tummy.com> demonstrated the Konqueror
web browser <http://www.konqueror.org/>. As he noted it isn't
necessarily "better" than say netscape, but it is a bit different and has
some nice features.

Our featured speaker this month was Michael Pedersen <marvin at keepthetouch.org>
talking about public key encryption and the GNU Privacy Guard software
<http://www.gnupg.org/> in particular. Since cryptography is both a
complex and somewhat controversial subject, this was as you might imagine
an interesting meeting. His talk spawned a fair amount of
discussion. Some URL's of interest are:

   - International PGP Page http://www.pgpi.org/
   - GPG Page http://www.gnupg.org/
   - PGP Keyserver http://www.keyserver.net/en/
   - Cryptography HowTo http://www.keepthetouch.org/crypto.html

We wrapped up the meeting as usual with our general Linux Q/A session and
door prize drawing.

Next Meeting: February 8, 2001, NIST Auditorium, 7:00 p.m.
Tim Jones <mtj at mtjones.com> will be talking about using
               Linux for embedded applications.
