[lug] LILO and LIes

LILO's lieing to me :}

I've got two images vmlinuz-2.2.16-22 and vmlinuz-2.4.0

On running lilo it's telling me that vmlinuz-2.4.0 is present and is the
default. But it's still booting 2.2.16. And at the boot: prompt <tab> is
only showing 2.2.16.

Anyone know what may be the source of this blatant lie :} ?
