I'm trying to get the xinetd on RH 7.1 beta to deny all services that
don't have identd running. My interpretation of the man pages is that I
should add "IDONLY" to the flags, and make sure "USERID" log option is
used. I've tried adding this flag in both /etc/xinetd.conf, as well as
/etc/xinetd.d/telnet and wu-ftpd. On my other machine, I stopped identd,
and found I could log in anyway. I tested to be sure port 113 was truly
dead via telnet to it on the machine I was logging in from. Does anyone
know of another trick so I can force identd to be used or else to deny
all connection based services?
