Hmm, that sounds like data recovery to me... Usually they pull the
drive apart in a clean-room, and pull the data off. You get a tape
or new hard drive back, not your original hard drive.
We had a client use On Track, I believe. They were finally able to
recover the data, after first shipping the tape (in that case) back
to us *UPS GROUND*. Their services started at about a grand (for
around a week turnaround, which in our case turned into more like
2) up to $15,000 if you want it back by tomorrow.
I've always said that it's a great business to be in, data recovery...
I mean, people come to you and you *KNOW* they're deperate.
