[lug] TrueType fonts in X

Rob Riggs built a Micro$oft TTF RPM package a while back. If you search
the LUG archives you should be able to find the URL. I have not tried
using it with the latest XFree86, but it seems to work very well with
earlier versions & RedHats 6/7.

Rob reckons no additional steps are required, but if you find that your
new fonts are still not available, try the following: cd to the
directory with your new *.TTF files. Run "ttmkfdir -o fonts.scale" &
then run "mkfontdir".

One of the older hands will probably tell you how to restart the
appropriate components to make your new fonts usable without the
indignity of having to bounce your box :-)
