As Nate mentioned, that _might_ be too big.

If I understand correctly that your /boot partition is that large, I'd suggest
you use GNU Parted (partition editor - available in bootable floppy format) to
shrink it to a more reasonable size.  After that, boot up from a floppy and run
lilo.
