[lug] Prompt Menu Utility

There is a curses based program that is called dialog I believe.  It is the
same program that is used in the text install of RedHat.  You call it with a
bunch of parameters and it displays a menu or whatever and returns the value
selected and exits.  You call it within shell scripts so you'd be able to
track the time, etc.
