Just alias the command.
alias nslookup='nslookup -sil'

Subject: [lug] Links??
Hello everybody!
I've got RH 7.1 installed on my workstation and it's running like a
dream! (Much better than 7.0)
However, I use nslookup a lot, and ever since the installation it's
giving me a message that says,
"Note: nslookup is deprecated and may be removed from future releases.
Consider using the `dig' or `host' programs instead. Run nslookup with
the `-sil[ent]' option to prevent this message from appearing."
Now I understand that I can use the -sil option or I can go with dig or
host. But I'm ever so faithfil to nslookup, and I enjoy the option of
searching for several domain names without having to type in the entire
command.
What I'm looking for is a way to link the command with the -sil option
to the regular command.
I've run:
ln -s /etc/nslookup -sil /usr/bin/nslookup
and it thinks the -sil are options for ln.
I've also tried:
ln -s '/etc/nslookup -sil' /usr/bin/nslookup
This results in a broken link.
Any ideas on this??
Thanks,
Shannon
