[lug] smb mount issues

smbmount may be depricatied.  My linux box is part of an NT domain, so
I use something like:
mount -t smbfs -o username=andrew,password=password,gid=#,uid=#
//machine/share
  /path/to/mountpoint

I found the uid and gid very useful, mostly because I run mount as root.

FWIW, I never managed to get smbmount to co-operate either. I gave up &
use "mount -t smbfs [options] [source] [mount-point]". Works like a
charm, but pay attention to the punctuation :-)
