I've been downloading distributions from

	www.tux.org

They have RedHat 7.1-stable (Seawolf) and
Mandrake 8.0.

There are many distributions, each of which are released at different 
times.  Then there are the kernels too.  They aren't synchronized with 
the release of any particular distribution.  If you are looking for a 
recent distribution to play with, try Mandrake Linux 8.0.  I installed 
it on my work machine and I really like it.  Try http://www.mandrakesoft.com
