[lug] modifying redhat install

The packages (IIRC -- it's been a really long time since I've messed with
this) are listed in RedHat/base/comps. You need to modify that file in order
to change the packages that are installed. If you want to modify the kernels
RPMS to support the additional filesystems, then you need to grab the kernel
SRPM, install it and modify the config patch file(s) and possible the spec
file (at least up the package version number), and rebuild. You'll then need
to rebuild the RedHat ISO image with the new kernel RPM.

Kevin Fenzi is the real master here... He's the "K" in KRUD, so he knows a
bit about the RedHat distribution.

Apparently the anaconda program is what controls a redhat install, which
is in turn a python script. Somewhere must be a data file it reads for
information as well. What I'm wanting to find out is if anyone here can
point me at just where this would have to be modified so I could add
install support to allow selection of reiserfs, ext3, or other
filesystems? Probably it is compressed so I can't find it just by
looking for individual file names, but I have no idea what the structure
is of the CD's. I'm not positive, but I do believe the base install
kernels have reiserfs support, so this isn't the real problem...it is
getting install to allow selection of other file systems. While I'm at
it, I might change default package selections to something more like
what I want, so if I reinstall it'll be good simply with defaults. Any
hints on where to look?
