[lug] pilot's under GNOME & KDE

I tried playing around with the gnome stuff and had an easier time using
jpilot and pilot-link. I think the gnome stuff was pilot-link based but
they had setup some conduits so that they could import data into the
various gnome programs. The control/config of how things worked was done
via the control panel.

I tried Kpilot under kde 1.2 I think and I didn't like it much either.

If memory serves, I got both working okay, I just didn't like the programs
that were offered for modifying the data.

You can also use pilot-link to sync with star office (there's a
staroffice.prc or a similar resource file that goes on your palm/visor to
let you do it).

All of this experience was based on the rpm's that were available on the
rh 6.2 install and powertools cd's. I also did this about 5 months ago, so
my memory has fogged considerably.

Sorry for the vaguery.

The nocciolo is:

I didn't like gnome-pilot or kpilot and have used jpilot and pilot-link for my needs.
