[lug] Multihoming with Redhat

I tried this, and got the following message when I
tried to fire up the new interface:

SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such device
SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device
SIOCSIFBRDADDR: No such device
SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such device
SIOCADDRT: No such device

Can someone tell me what to look for?
