[lug] security provided by router

My friend read or heard somewhere that his new Cisco 678 router provides some 
level of security.  I found the manual online 
(http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/dsl_prod/c600s/c678/) and saw 
that it can be set up to do logging, but I couldn't find any security features 
that would prevent intrusion into his computer behind the router.

Is there more to Cisco 678 security than just logging?
