There's lot's of documentation on www.python.org. I liked
"Dive into Python" (http://diveintopython.org/) as a general
introduction for someone who has used another language before.
Another more general introduction would be "How to think like
a computer scientist (Python Version)" which can be found at
http://rocky.wellesley.edu/downey/ost or http://www.ibiblio.org/obp.
