   This is an invitation to a great flood of e-mails.  Without going into
   detail (I will be glad to discuss all this in more detail with you
   offline) here are some basic suggestions:

Ferdinand, 

I think that "offline" is a truly bad idea.  If Tom has the
interest in feedback then a series of threads (one topic each) could
provide a lot of useful input based on the concept of "N heads are
better than one"

Scott already has raised two topics, you several more.
