I've used Broadcast2000 with great luck for audio only.  Haven't been able to
have much of the luck with my dv camcorder tho.  I recorded several hours of
music from ATT music channels, edited and converted to .mp3 files.  It as
really easy to do.  BTW- I'm using Mandrake 8.0
