[lug] fetchmailconf problem

im new to linux. when i try to set up fetchmail...by using fetchmail conf i 
always get the error:

file /usr/bin/fetchmailconf , line 1841 in?
hostname=socket.gethostbyaddr (socket.gethostname())[o]
socket.error: host not found

can anyone help...im running mandrake7.2
