you might take a look at the "metamail" package, which has a series of
command-line tools for manipulating MIME messages.

there are perl packages for dealing with MIME as well.

note that, unless the file names are set sanely, you'll have to
implement some sort of logic to figure out where to put the contents
of those messages...
