If you move the maildir, you have to tell pop3d to look in the new
location. Unfortunately, because you are moving it outside of the user's
home directory, you're probably going to have to either hack the
qmail-pop3d source code to look in the new location, or set up a sym-link
from the user's home directory/Maildir to the new location/Maildir.
