Yup, it works, but the file is pretty large.

My six gif files are about 80kB each.  As bmp's, they are about 1MB each.
If I coalesce the bmp's into one pdf, it is about 1MB.  If I go the
gif->ps -> pdf route, the resulting file is over 3MB.
